ONLINE KINSTRETCH / STRENGTH CLASSES

This movement class will prepare your body for whatever sport, hobby, or physical activity you wish to do. We look at how the human body is supposed to move and then work to restore optimal joint function, increase movement capacity, improve body control and expand your available ranges of motion. There are no pre-determined “movement patterns” or “flows”, but rather an educated understanding of what is optimal mobility – what is optimal flexibility (range of motion for each joint of the body) and what is the optimal strength to control that flexibility.

You will find that a Kinstretch class is actually a strength training class where you are working at end ranges of motion. Since we are relatively weak at end ranges of motion, using our bodyweight will typically be an adequate stimulus to “max out” on these exercises. The beauty of the ability to work at high intensities with bodyweight is that each student may have very different levels of mobility, yet each student can work at their own individual intensities at the same time.

Michelle’s classes will also include various bodyweight strength and optional use of free-weights/balls/props exercises that she has learnt from her personal movement journey via dance, gymnastics, pilates, yoga, surfing, rock climbing as well as exercises she has learnt from her professional movement journey in Exercise Physiology/Strength & Conditioning via sports rehabilitation, sports performance and optimal posture alignment.

Beware – This is not your typical stretch or yoga class. You will gain strength (not bulk), you will get better at moving and you may start forgetting about your body pains.
